We have a location in Arlington Heights that we are trying to fill the Podiatric Assistant position at.  The pay is $12 – $14.50/hour (dependent on experience). See attached job description below. The hours for the position are as follows:

M: 10:30a – 7p

Tu: 10a – 3:30p

W: 10:30a – 7p

Th: 8:30a – 4p

Fr: Closed

Sa: 7:30a – 12:30p (every other Saturday)

Podiatry Medical Assistant-Northwest Suburbs

Summary: To assist in patient care and follow up as directed by the Provider, and Practice Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms and welcome patients or visitors politely.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and take vitals and prepare them for the exam.
  • Assist patient in preparation for the physician and assist physician as needed in patient care.
  • Take and develop quality X-rays.
  • Removal / change of patients’ padding and dressings.
  • Patient appointment scheduling back up.
  • Instrument maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization (autoclave and wet).
  • Record medical supply inventory.
  • Prepare syringes on a set schedule- labeling with name/date/initials.
  • Orthotics/diabetic shoes- fitting, ordering, dispensing, monitoring, and follow up.
  • Maintain OTC product inventory and sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the patient exam rooms. Clean & sanitize each room following each patient so that no signs of prior treatments are visible.
  • Organize and maintain drawers.
  • Phone and scheduling back up duty.
  • General office duties.

Skills

  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse personalities, while maintaining a friendly attitude.
  • Good phone skills, computer skills, and organizational skills.
  • Physical skills that enable normal stooping, bending, light lifting, and the ability to read fine print.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Experienced working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Education:

  • High School Diploma, related on-the-job experience, or an associate’s degree.
  • 2 years of Medical Assisting experience.
